A group of 12 hunters, including Bob Parry, Dick Bleier and Bill Mall or Mallo (accounts
differ), had arranged themselves in a line, to drive deer before them. In succession, from
left to right, they viewed a powerfully built creature with short, dark brown hair and a
hairless face passing before them. It seemed to be watching them, moving forward as they backed
off. It finally left. The hunters later said that they would have shot the creature except that
it looked too much like a man. It left tracks in the snow, which were photographed. The tracks
gave serious researchers pause: They had three toes and appeared to be webbed.
